License Terms

Draft. This document is a working draft that hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before SYNTH Radio launches publicly.

These terms apply to every song license bought on SYNTH Radio by a Pro member (the "licensee"). They are printed on the license certificate issued with each purchase. Each license is between the licensee and the song's creator; SYNTH Radio sells it on the creator's behalf. The Terms of Service also apply.

1. What a license allows

  • The licensee may use the licensed recording for the usage type stated on this certificate, worldwide, for as long as they like (perpetual).
  • The license is non-exclusive: the creator may license the same recording to others.
  • The licensee may edit, loop or trim the recording to fit their project, but may not resell, redistribute or sublicense it as a standalone audio file.
  • The licensee may not register the recording with a content identification system (such as YouTube Content ID) or claim authorship of it.
  • The recording was created with AI tools. The creator has confirmed they hold the commercial rights to it; SYNTH Radio does not guarantee that third-party rights do not exist.

2. Types of use

Each license covers one type of use, shown on the certificate:

  • Online video (YouTube, social, streaming)
  • Podcast or radio show
  • In-store / venue background music
  • Advertising and commercials
  • Live events and presentations

To use the same song in another way, buy a separate license for that type of use.

3. Price, payment and refunds

The price is set by the creator and paid once; sales tax is added where it applies. The creator receives 70% of the price before tax. If the payment is refunded, reversed or disputed, the license ends and access to the master recording is removed.

4. Your certificate

Every license has a unique number (for example SR-2026-001000) and a PDF certificate, both on your Licenses page. Keep the certificate as proof of your license. Questions: support@synthradio.app.
