Privacy Policy

Last updated November 7, 2026

Draft. This document is a working draft that hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before SYNTH Radio launches publicly.

This policy explains what personal information SYNTH Radio ("we", "us"), based in Brooklyn, New York, USA, collects when you use synthradio.app (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

In short: we collect what we need to run SYNTH Radio, we don't sell your information, and we don't use third-party advertising or tracking.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account: your email address, username, display name, bio, avatar image and account type (listener, creator or business).
  • Business details (business accounts): company name, website and industry.
  • Creator content: the SYNTH personas you create and the songs, cover art and details you upload, including which AI tool you used and your confirmation that you hold the rights.
  • Reports: the reason and any details you include when you report content.

Information created when you use the Service

  • Listening activity: which songs you play or skip, when, and from which station or page. We use this to run the radio, enforce plan limits and count plays.
  • Library: songs you heart, artists you follow and your playlists.
  • Purchases: your plan, subscription status and renewal date, and the licenses you buy (song, type of use, price, license number and the licensee name shown on the certificate).
  • Technical data: like most websites, our hosting and database providers record IP addresses, browser details and request logs to keep the Service secure and working.

Information handled by Stripe

Payments, creator payouts and sales tax are handled by Stripe. When you pay, Stripe collects your card or other payment details and billing address, and may collect a business tax ID. When creators set up payouts, Stripe collects their identity and bank details for verification. We don't receive or store full card numbers, bank account numbers or ID documents. We only store references, such as your Stripe customer ID and whether a creator's payouts are active. Stripe's use of your data is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

2. How we use it

  • to create and secure your account and send you sign-in links;
  • to stream music, build radio stations, show your library and apply the limits of your plan;
  • to process subscriptions and license purchases, pay creators and calculate taxes;
  • to show creators their plays, followers and license sales;
  • to review reports, moderate content and prevent fraud, abuse and play-count manipulation;
  • to send messages about your account, payments and important changes;
  • to comply with the law and enforce our Terms.

The announcements Free listeners hear between songs are SYNTH Radio's own. We don't use advertising networks, and we don't build advertising profiles.

3. What other users can see

  • Your username, display name, bio and avatar, the personas and songs you publish, and any playlists you make public.
  • Artist pages show totals such as followers, monthly listeners and plays. They never show who follows or listens.
  • When a business licenses a song, the creator can see the licensee name, the type of use and the price.

Your email address, listening history, hearts and private playlists aren't shown to other users.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who run parts of SYNTH Radio for us under contract: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payments, creator payouts and tax) and Resend (sign-in emails).
  • Legal and safety: authorities or others when the law requires it, or when needed to protect people, the Service or our rights.
  • Business transfers: a buyer or successor if SYNTH Radio is sold or merged, under this policy.

5. Cookies and similar technology

We only use cookies needed to run the Service: they keep you signed in and remember that your profile is set up. Your browser also stores your volume setting. We don't use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except: payment, license and tax records, which we keep as long as the law requires (generally up to 7 years); licenses you sold or bought, which stay valid for the other party; and information we need to keep to resolve disputes or prevent abuse. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.

7. Your choices and rights

  • You can see and edit your profile in Settings, manage your subscription with Manage billing, and delete songs, personas and playlists yourself.
  • To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account, email support@synthradio.app. We'll verify that the request comes from you and respond within the time the law requires (usually 30–45 days).
  • Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states), you may have extra rights, including the right to know what we collect and to not be discriminated against for using your rights. We don't sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Children

SYNTH Radio isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Security and location

We protect your information with access controls in our database, encrypted connections and private storage for original recordings and certificates. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your email account safe. Your information is stored and processed in the United States.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll tell you before the change takes effect, for example by email or a notice in the app. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
